The Kazakhstan Electricity Association (KEA) is а non-governmental, non-profit organization, officially registered on January 7, 1999. Currently, the Association includes 82 members, representing power generating companies, electric networks companies, supplying organizations, system operator, centralized tenders operator, leading branch research and designing institutes, energy equipment manufacturers and other companies. The KEA acts as an interlink between power sector entities and state bodies. The KEA members participate in development and improvement of power sector legislation. To encourage the electric power workmen the Association instituted the honour decorations and commendations. The KEA regularly holds a republican electric power meeting focusing on issues of sector development. On the Association’s initiative the conduction of electric network maintenance personnel competition has been renewed. The KEA founded Energy Veterans Council.

KEGOC is the system operator for Kazakhstan's Unified Power System (UPS). Centralized operational dispatch control for Kazakhstan UPS is provided by KEGOC’s branch: the National Dispatching Centre of System Operator (NDC SO).
