The Entrepreneurship and Industrial-Innovative Development Department of Zhambyl Region Akimat is a public institution, managing in the field of tourism. There are 29 tourist companies, 63 hotel resorts and 5 sanatorium and health resorts, operating in the region, which provide a wide range of services to arrange the recreation and treatment for local and foreign tourists. The competitive advantage of Zhambyl region is in its unique culture (historical tourism), picturesque wild nature (eco-tourism: diversity of natural and climatic zones and biotypes, 19 species of tulips, developed tour itineraries along the gorges, barkhans, there are classified itineraries for alpine activities, the high mountain glaciers and passes), and also opportunities for active recreation, such as sports tourism, water tourism, adventure tourism.
