Tourism and external relations governing body of the East Kazakhstan region co-ordinates tourist activities in the territory of region. The Governing body is involved in the formation and implementation of the state polices in the field of tourism. The issues of tourism infrastructure development and promotion of the region’s tourist product fall within the competence of the Governing body. Together with the organizations concerned, the Governing body maintains international and internal tourist contacts, provides for participation in international and national tourist fairs and exhibitions, prepares and hold regional fairs. The Governing body co-ordinates activities of tourism bodies within its competence.
