The Akmola Regional Department оf Tourism coordinates tourist activities in the territory of the Akmola Regional. The Department is involved in the development and implementation of the Government policy in the field of tourism. Issues of tourism infrastructure development and promotion of the region’s tourist products fall within the competence of the Department. Together with the organisations concerned, the Department maintains international and internal tourist ties, ensures participation in international and national tourist fairs and exhibitions, preparation for and holding of regional tourist events. Within its competence, the Department coordinates activities of tourism management authorities.

Tourism and external relations governing body of the East Kazakhstan region co-ordinates tourist activities in the territory of region. The Governing body is involved in the formation and implementation of the state polices in the field of tourism. The issues of tourism infrastructure development and promotion of the region’s tourist product fall within the competence of the Governing body. Together with the organizations concerned, the Governing body maintains international and internal tourist contacts, provides for participation in international and national tourist fairs and exhibitions, prepares and hold regional fairs. The Governing body co-ordinates activities of tourism bodies within its competence.

The Karaganda region occupies the main part of the historical and geographical territory of Sary-Arka, in Kazakh it means golden mountains. The Karkaraly Mountains are prominent among silk-grass and wormwood steppes and amaze by bizarre stone topography. The Karkaraly oasis is decorated with legendary mountain lakes enchanted by many writers and poets: Shaitankol or the Devil Lake, Bassein are picturesquely situated in the woods embedded in the mountain range. Balkhash, the largest lake of Kazakhstan, is situated in the south of the Oblast. It is unique as the water in the eastern part of the lake is salty, and the water in the western part is fresh. The Kent, Kyzylarai and Ulytau mountains keep many centuries of history and at all times their beauty carried people away. One of the main branches of the Great Silk Way, so-called “Copper Route”, ran through Sary-Arka. The monuments of historical value are: mausoleums of Alashа Khan and Zhoshу Khan, Kent Palace, mausoleum of the composer Tatimbet, mausoleum of the akyn Bukhar-Zhyrau, Abai’s memorial house. Wildlife of the region is abundant and diverse: saiga antelopes, argali, gazelles, golden eagles. Karaganda hunting and Berkutchi are well known both inside and outside of Kazakhstan. The North Kazakhstan region in the northern gate of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The region is situated in the extreme south of the West Siberian lowland within the black earth zone, which defines its specialization in agricultural production. Petropavlovsk is an administrative centre of North Kazakhstan region. The city is situated on shore of Ishim, which is the left inflow of Irtysh. There are interesting landscapes, forest tracts and lake areas of Shalkar and Imantau nature zones. There are many places of historical and cultural value, very important for archeology, history, architecture and monument art. In the aul of Syrymber the country estate of Shokan Valikhanov, the first Kazak scientist was reconstructed, a fine memorial of the wood architecture of the 19th century. You can see memorial monument, which was stated in honour of national heroes Karasay and Agyntay near Saumalkol. There are plenty of archeological objects (burial mounds, ancient cities of ancient settlements) in the regions of the Ishim, the Chaglinka, the Iman Burluk rivers. In the natural boundary Botay (Iman-Burluk river) more than 60000 objects were discovered, which let to suppose that the domestication of wild horse by the ancient Man started here about 5,5 thousands years ago.

Pavlodar Regional Administration for Tourism is a government body in charge of the travel industry. Its activities include: Develop the tourist potential in Pavlodar region; Implement the programme on development of promising areas of the travel industry in Pavlodar Oblast, Kazakhstan; Draft strategic plans on the development of tourism and the Oblast Development Programme; Establish and enhance material and technical capacities, etc. The Tourism Development Department works to improve the quality and promote tourist products in the Kazakhstan and world markets through implementation of the strategic plan and the Oblast Development Programme.
